Anatomy of a body record: beyond Tasmania , 2013 . Installation view  Galerie Nathalie Obadia , Bourg-Tibourg, Paris     Re-Assembling the trophies and curios of Colonialism & the Silent Terror by Professor Ian Anderson The postcards and travel diaries, the cultural mementos all seem benign and naïve in comparison to the skull and severed body. Yet all are produced from the same historical moment, the same social ethos and colonizing gaze. In all Aboriginal people are un-voiced. They were not silent – and certainly unlikely to have been simply compliant. But their voices are stifled and it is only the occasional glimpses that give us the chance to see Aboriginal peoples as the architects of their representation.    ESSAY
